Serene Scenery Trio

By | August 1, 2016

One item in the Annual Catalog that might easily be overlooked is the Serene Scenery DSP Stack.  The catalog doesn’t do this paper justice by only showing a small section of it in the catalog.  It is just GORGEOUS in person.

I decided I had to make a trio of cards that was simple yet beautiful with this paper.

For this first card I embossed the sentiment in our new Copper Embossing Powder.  I love the copper look.  I really like how this sentiment played into the beauty of the Serene Scenery DSP.  Isn’t that a beautiful photo?!  I wish I could take a picture like that!

The envelopes (above & below) were stamped with images from Better Together.  I wanted to dress up the envelope in a different way than I usually do.  I tend to add DSP to the inside or the outside flap of the envelope.  This time I wanted to show that you do not have to have a bunch of DSP, a pretty stamp goes a long way.

The second card reminded me of when I was little and would blow the dandelion seeds everywhere.  I immediately thought of wishes and knew I needed to make a birthday card.  I die cut using Gold Foil Sheets and stamped “make a” in Delightful Dijon.  I stamped happy birthday from Stylized Birthday stamp set into the inside.

To finish off the trio, I used Pop of Paradise stamp set on the envelope and the background Pineapple stamp set on the card.  I used a Delightful Dijon Stampin’ Write Marker for the base and a Cucumber Crush Stampin’ Write Marker for the top.  I heat embossed the sentiment in Copper Embossing Powder.  Love that stuff!

Tip: Use the Embossing Buddy before stamping to eliminate those unwanted flecks of powder on your card.  I forgot on this card, but fortunately this DSP hides the extra flecks very well! Like I tell those that come to my classes, I make the mistakes so you don’t have to.  You get to learn from my mistakes.  LoL  🙂  Here’s a close up of the Pineapple and Copper Embossing.
