Happy Father’s Day!!!!

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!!!

I created a shirt card for my father and father-in-law.  The card bases are the standard 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (Cajun Craze and Island Indigo) then scored to make it a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card.

To get the collar of the shirt, I cut the top of the card in 1″ on each side 1″ from the top.  I then cut along the score line down to the 1″ cut mark so the collar could fold.  Then fold the edges of the collar in toward the center with just the top points barely touching.

Then fold the edges of the collar in toward the center with just the tops points barely touching.  Cut the back of the card so the top 1″ is gone.

To make the tie: Take a 4″x4″ piece of cardstock.  I used some of the retired Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack that I still had on hand.  You could use any cardstock or DSP that you want for your tie design.

Then fold it in half corner to corner.

Then open it up and fold both sides into the center line you just created.

Then flip it over and fold the top down about 1 inch.

Then fold the tip back up toward the top but only go half way up.  Fold that up a second time.

I then took the little flap and put it over onto the other side.

Next, flip it over so you see the backside.  Fold both sides in toward the center.  The top will take a bit more pressure since it will be lumpy.

Flip it over and voilà you have a tie! 🙂  I just put a little bit of fast fuse on the back of the tie to adhere it to the card.

Since the top of the tie is a little bulky, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the collar to the shirt.  I double stacked them on each size to get the height I needed.

Happy Father’s Day!  I hope this helped you to create these cute shirt cards next time you are in need of a masculine card.

The sentiment was from an old Paper Pumpkin kit.  I just love those kits.  They are fun to put together and then keep reusing the stamps again and again.  The buttons were attached using glue dots.
