I love the minions as I am sure most of the world does. I CASED (Copy And Share Everything) this card from fellow demonstrator, Linda Higgins, from Australia.
This card was easier than I was expecting to make. The Circle Card Thinlits Dies and my Big Shot made this card easy.
I cut out the flip card base in Daffodil Delight. Next, I took a 1″ strip of Basic Black cardstock and again using the die and Big Shot cut out the goggle strap for the minions face. By using the die to cut out the strap, I was able to line it up where it needed to be and the curves would line up perfectly.
Here is how the eye and goggle were punched out:
2-1/2″ Circle Punch in Smoky Slate
1-3/4″ Circle Punch in Whisper White
1-3/8″ Circle Punch in Soft Suede
1″ Circle Punch in Basic Black
I added a touch of white gel pen to add dimension to the eye.
The overalls were made with Pacific Point cardstock. I cut out a 1-1/4″x3-1/4″ piece and then cut it again in half. One piece was adhered to the top and the other to the bottom so it looks like one piece, yet the card is able to flip open. The overall straps were punched out using the Word Window Punch in Pacific Point. The buttons were Basic Black cardstock using 1/2″ Circle Punch.
The mouth was made using the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch. I punched out a circle and then inserted the circle that had just been cut back into the punch so a sliver would be cut off. Adhesive was just put on half of the mouth so the other would be floating when flipped open.
I rounded the corners at the top.
To finish it off, I cut out the large blossom from the retired punch, Boho Blossoms. I trimmed it down for the hair and adhered it in the inside.
The backside of the eye is then where you write a message or stamp a sentiment. I plan on stamping Happy Birthday on this one to give to my cousin.
