Retirement Card

By | September 5, 2015

First, I want to share something that I discovered before sharing my card.  I used Jamberry nail wraps for the first time today.  They are fantastic!  The funny part was I didn’t quite know why I was drawn to this one color combo until I started to make my card order today…

My nail wraps matched Stampin’ Up!’s color Mint Macaron!!

How funny is that?!?!  Well now I understand why that color wrap immediately caught my eye. 🙂  If you are interested in finding out more about Jamberry, my friend’s website is amandammilligan.jamberrynails.net.  (UPDATE:  I have now signed up with Jamberry since I would be able to save on my orders.  If you are interested my info is jennifersturgill.jamberry.com)

I was hired to make a retirement card for a lady….I sell my handmade cards or like I did today, can custom make one to your needs.  You can leave me a comment on a post you like or send me an email at jenrose.sturgill@gmail.com with what you are wanting.

I thought the saying from the Hello Life stamp set was perfect for her retirement card. “Do more of what makes you happy.”

The cardstock is Shimmery White.  It gives a glimmery look to the paper without having to add anything.  The shimmer is hard to see in the pictures, but in person it really adds that wow factor.  I love when you can add to the look of a card with minimal effort.  I stamped the saying in VersaMark ink and immediately sprinkled on Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on top.  Tapped off the excess, and then heat embossed.

I inked up the Swallowtail stamp using sponge daubers and Mint Macaron, Wisteria Wonder, and Pink Pirouette stamp pads.

I adhered the Shimmery White piece to the Wisteria Wonder.  I popped up the Wisteria Wonder on the Mint Macaron card base by using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finished it off by stamping Happy Retirement in the inside from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
