Today, I made a get well card for my cousin Anna using the new challenge blog, Global Design Project. This week is their first challenge…a color challenge.
I recently found out that my cousin accidentally fell and broke her leg. I wanted to make her a card and felt that the color challenge #GDP001 would be perfect for her.
I stamped the Kind Koala onto Smoky Slate and So Saffron cardstock for paper piecing. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the koala and flower.
I then masked the stamp with washi tape, covering any areas I did not want to have inked.
I applied ink and then removed the washi tape before stamping onto the Pink Pirouette from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.
Next, I adhered the Smoky Slate koala and So Saffron flower onto the stamped image.
The sentiment I used comes from Thoughts & Prayers. I masked the bottom of the stamp because I wanted to save the “Get Well Soon” for the inside of the card.
I then adhered the Pink Pirouette to the front of the card base by using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the inside, I masked the “Wishing you a quick and complete recovery.” By masking the stamp, I was able to create an outside and inside sentiment.
To finish it off, I added a strip of Pink Pirouette to the inside along with a few more flowers.
Jennifer – super-cute! The koala is a perfect way to incorporate the Smoky Slate. Great project with lots of great tips. Thank you so much for playing along with this week's Global Design Project color challenge.
Thanks Brian!
